Oh, so there’s an actual reason Jeff Goldblum’s shirt is like *that* in “Jurassic Park”
There are very few things in life that you just accept as fact. The sky is blue. The grass is green (unless we’re in a drought). Jeff Goldblum can take his shirt off whenever he wants and it just works. He can do whatever he wants (like cook soup for 12 minutes and film it or even collaborate with Migos). These are just facts!
You don’t need us to tell you that Goldblum has an ineffable sultry quality to him, so when he decided to take his shirt off in the original Jurassic Park all those years ago, you just went with it. The moment has been memed a million times since then, and honestly shirtless sexy Dr. Malcolm never gets old. But what we all took for granted was that Goldblum apparently had a real reason for why he unbuttoned all those shirt buttons for that scene, and you guys, it actually makes a lot of sense.
“It’s supposed to be Costa Rica, right?” Goldblum told Yahoo. “So things are hot and I’m sure I’m in some sort of fever. So all the logic is that we gotta get some of these wet clothes off immediately. As I remember, I don’t think anybody fought me on that.”
That…yeah, that sounds about right. Who knew Goldblum could be so logical?!
But then Yahoo goes and asks Goldblum about his weird laugh (that you can watch on YouTube for 10 hours straight if you want to go mad) and he calls it a “suggestive gurgle” and we’re like, yeah, this is for real. Confirmed, he really said these things.
“We were on me, and it just occurred,” Goldblum said of filming that scene on one of the first days of prodctuion. “I don’t think it even said [he laughs] in the script.” But just like whenever Goldblum disrobes his shirt, whenever he decides to laugh, you just don’t question it. Again, facts, people.
