So, Jared Leto is going to be in the “Blade Runner” sequel

It’s official! Jared Leto has a role in the Blade Runner sequel. According to Entertainment Weekly, Leto’s specific role has not yet been confirmed, but he will definitely be part of the cast. The Blade Runner sequel, allegedly set several decades after the original Blade Runner, has an all-star cast. According to EW, the film will also star Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, and Robin Wright, meaning that Leto’s presence is sure to round out an already exciting cast.

Fans of the original movie will be pleased to hear that the sequel is written by Michael Green and the original Blade Runner writer, Hampton Fancher. Director  Denis Villeneuve is already excited about the film and promises that it will deliver strong for fans both new and old. As he tells EW, “It’s a great team and spirits are very high, failure is not an option.”

Unfortunately for us, he didn’t spill the beans any more on who, exactly, Leto might be playing. According to EW, however, Alcon Entertainment co-founders Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson promise in a statement that Leto will perform to “create a truly memorable, never before seen character.” So, personally, our hopes are already up!
