Jared Leto compares Taylor Swift to his mom, and it’s actually super sweet

Thanks to his incredible role as Joker in the recent Suicide Squad movie, Jared Leto has been doing more interviews than the private, chameleon-like performer typically does. And in a recent comprehensive chat with GQ, he actually talked about his family and compared his mother to (of all people) Taylor Swift.

He said, “She triggers a conversation with myself about what’s possible. And you know, the thing I like about Taylor is she’s a self-made woman. I see that in my mother.”

Taylor’s epic success and incredible talent make us all wonder what’s possible. He goes on to explain how he’s inspired and impressed (like the rest of us) by Taylor’s resilience.

“There were probably points in Taylor’s career where someone else maybe would have been knocked off balance by criticism or other challenges, and she just kept marching forward.”

Since Jared is both an actor and musician (ICYMI, he’s the frontman of Thirty Seconds To Mars), it makes his compliment towards his fellow peer even more meaningful since he totally gets the type of spotlight she lives in every day. To admire that she’s remained poised and strong (and to also adore those qualities in his own mother) is a pretty applause-worthy observation.

Between talking so highly of both his mother *and* Taylor and him looking totally adorable while covered in puppies on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon…

It’s easy to forget about the fact that he can so convincingly play such an evil character (or just, like, get over it because that’s his job, after all) and just fall in love with him immediately.
