Jared Leto just cleared up his bad blood with Taylor Swift in a single tweet

Earlier this week, TMZ released a video of Jared Leto and members of his band, Thirty Seconds to Mars, listening to Taylor Swift’s 1989 album. In the video, a few not-so-nice things are said. It ends with Jared Leto saying “F— her. I don’t give a f— about her. It’s whatever works best for us.”

The video is a minute and fifteen seconds long, and it’s clearly edited. According to TMZ, the video was recorded a few months ago in Los Angeles.

Taylor Swift’s fans quickly took to Twitter to express their unhappiness with Leto’s comments. Yesterday, he used the same platform to issue an apology.

It doesn’t look like Leto and his band were just hanging out in the recording studio talking trash for the fun of it. In the video, it appears that the band was listening to Swift’s 1989 for inspiration and research.

Many of the comments seem to come from a musician’s point of view, commenting on stylistic choices and production value, and the statements made address the music and not Swift personally—though it’s still not the nicest way to talk about a fellow musician’s work.

Still, we’re happy that Leto apologized, and in the process, proved you don’t mess with Swifties.

Meanwhile, Swift hasn’t publicly addressed the video or Jared Leto’s apology. She’s probably too busy shaking it off.
