McDonald’s has started serving an INSANE version of the Big Mac in Japan
Bigger isn’t always better, especially when it comes to fast food. But Japan seems to think otherwise. McDonald’s Japan will be rolling out a supersize version of one of its most popular menu items on April 6th.
The Giga Big Mac is exactly how you’d imagine it to be — gigantic. The burger comes with four beef patties — that’s 2.8 times more meat than the regular Big Mac, which comes with two beef patties. Japan’s version of the Big Mac also comes with cheese, lettuce, onion, pickles, a special mayonnaise-based sauce, mustard, and sweet relish — just like the U.S. version.
When there’s a gigantic sandwich, there must be gigantic sides, right? Right. McDonald’s will also be offering “grand-size” soft drinks and French fries — both larger than the largest size currently offered at McDonald’s. You know, just in case 32 ounces of soda doesn’t quench your thirst.
For those who feel like four beef patties are too many beef patties to consume in one sitting, you can order the Grand Big Mac, which is a less dramatic version of the Giga Big Mac, with only two extra large beef patties.
McDonald’s says the new sandwich is meant for customers who are looking for a “a satisfied sense of accomplishment,” Japan’s RocketNews24 reports.
This isn’t the first time McDonald’s has introduced a massive sandwich to the world. In 2014, the fast food chain came out with the Mega Big Mac with four patties in Turkey, Ireland, South Korea and Japan. To us, the Giga Big Mac seems uncomfortably gigantic, but that’s never seemed to be a problem for McDonald’s.
