The cast of “Jane the Virgin” recalled THAT tragic character’s death, and grab the tissues
All of our hearts were broken earlier this year when (spoiler alert) Jane the Virgin‘s Michael Cordero passed away. Months later at Vulture Festival in New York City, the Jane the Virgin cast continued to mourn Michael and talk about the devastating and shocking death that occurred in the middle of the third season. Everyone on the show took a hit with the death of Jane’s husband Michael (Brett Dier).
Gina Rodriguez, the show’s star, weighed in on how the show reflected that sometimes life doesn’t always go according to plan.
“It really is beautiful to see somebody go through this transformation, as we do as human beings, where we go from being kind of naive and so in love with this romance and this idea that nothing bad in life happens if you just play it by the book. One plus one equals two. And that’s not the way life works, and that’s not a bad thing either.
Gina also talked about how she felt no longer having Brett by her side while filming Jane the Virgin.
“Obviously, it was the worst experience literally to date as an actor in my life, because this man has given so much joy to me.

Luckily, you’ll get to see Michael one more time this season of Jane the Virgin.
According to the showruner, Jennie Synder Urman, Dier will make an appearance in Monday’s season finale. Jaime Camil described the emotional table read for Michael’s final episode as “a lake of tears.”
