James Franco has a girlfriend? Here’s what we know about Isabel Pakzad

At Sunday evening’s Golden Globes, James Franco joined hundreds of others by wearing a Time’s Up pin in protest of sexual misconduct. Shortly after the broadcast, actress Violet Paley posted a message to Twitter alleging that Franco had once sexually assaulted her, in effect pointing out the irony of his pin.

She specifically wrote that Franco once forced her face toward his exposed genitals while in a car together, and that he also once invited her 17-year-old friend to his hotel room. The Breakfast Club‘s Ally Sheedy also posted a since-deleted tweet, suggesting that she has also seen Franco engage in predatory behavior.

Franco denied all the allegations on The Late Show with Stephen ColbertTuesday, January 9th. And now, in light of these claims, many are wondering about the status of Franco’s personal life — specifically whether he has a significant other. In early November, Us Weekly reported that Franco, 39, was dating Isabel Pakzad, 24, though neither party has officially confirmed it.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Pakzad is a graduate student at the University of Southern California, studying at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. She’s set to graduate this year with a Master of Science in Integrated Design, Business, and Technology. She graduated from Penn State in 2016 with a degree in Public Relations and Advertising and a minor in International Studies. Previously, she worked in publicity for several different companies in the entertainment industry. She’s originally from Tenafly, New Jersey.

Pakzad also has a popular Instagram account with about 16,000 followers. Based on her photos, she’s a big fan of travel. In the past seven months alone, the California resident has posted pictures taken in Greece, Switzerland, France, Cabo San Lucas, Israel, Montenegro, Croatia, London, and New York. Notably, there are no photos of her and Franco, which isn’t surprising considering how quiet they’ve supposedly kept their relationship. Franco mentioned having a girlfriend named “Isabel” during a Howard Stern interview in December, but there have otherwise been no public statements about their relationship, though they’ve been spotted together on several occasions.

Hopefully more information about the incidents with Franco will soon become available — because anyone guilty of sexual misconduct must be held accountable — no matter who they are.
