James Corden is joining “Ocean’s 8” and let’s hope they let him drive the (carpool) getaway van

It might be too soon to go ahead and declare Ocean’s 8 one of the best movies every made, but you know what, let’s go ahead and do it. The film features a ridiculously talented, and hilariously funny, all-female cast of ladies who are going to try and swindle something away from SOMEONE. And now, once that’s done, they’ve got a perfect getaway driver (maybe): James Corden has signed onto the movie, and this is the BEST!

In case you need a quick refresher, the film currently stars: Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Awkwafina and Sarah Paulson (yes, that is more than eight, we know). Damian Lewis is also set to play the “bad guy” in the film, and recently, Katie Holmes and Dakota Fanning have been spotted around the set. And now, JAMES CORDEN.

Not much is still known about the plot — except, you know, these ladies are going to steal something — but details about Corden’s character are here. According to Deadline, who first broke the news, Corden’s character Corden “will play an insurance investigator who grows suspicious of them.”

This is all kinds of exciting, if only because can you even IMAGINE the Carpool Karaoke tie-in that will come out for Ocean’s 8? First of all, he and Rihanna can do their own one. Then he can do one with Hathaway, where they only sing Broadway showtunes, and we are there for that. And then, you know Kaling is gonna demand her own version, but instead of singing they’ll just gossip for 15 minutes and it’ll make our LIFE.

Even better if he can cram all these ladies (and Lewis) into a mini-van and drive them around town rocking out. Ocean’s 8 is still a long ways off (2018, oy) but we need to start putting the wheels in motion to make this epic carpool happen.
