James Corden and Chris Hardwick performed the ‘Star Wars’ Christmas song we never knew we needed

It’s beginning to look a lot like Star Wars. Unless you’ve been living under a space-station-sized rock these past few months, you’ll have seen trailers, promos, and pictures for the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie pretty much everywhere you look. Last night, on The Late Late Show with James Corden, guest Chris Hardwick pointed out that while Christmas comes every year, this is the first time in ten years we’re getting a new Star Wars movie. The two happen to somewhat coincide, with the new movie hitting theaters on the 18th. So Corden and Hardwick composed their very own Star Wars holiday song that encapsulates everything about what fans are feeling leading up to the big day.

Set to the tune of “The Christmas Song,” which begins with the iconic “chestnuts roasting on a open fire” lyric, this new song replaces the old words with some that are equally as heartwarming, all about Star Wars and everything we’re looking forward to with the release of the new film. It’s the perfect song to put on during Star Wars Eve (you know, the evening of December 17th) as you sit around the fire with family, getting ready for what the glorious morning holds.
