James Corden is the 2018 Grammys host, and we’re super pumped about it

Next year’s award season will look a lot similar to what we’ve already experienced in 2017, but that’s not at all a bad thing because James Corden is set to host the 2018 Grammys. The Wrap reports that CBS made the announcement on Wednesday at its upfront presentation, putting The Late Late Show host in the same emceeing boat as Jimmy Kimmel, who will return to host the Oscars next year.

The 2018 Grammys will return to New York for the first time since 2003, and we’re totally looking for to it? We’re most interested in whether the Carpool Karaoke star will outdo his infamous stair-falling, rapping opening Grammy Awards number (which we’re still marveling at, tbh).

Who knows what will happen when Corden takes to the Grammys stage? He might even manage to keep both shoes on his feet this time.

Also, he’s got some pretty big expectations to live up to. Corden better bring his A-game this time around because we don’t even want to think about what will happen if he doesn’t make Blue Ivy excited enough to crash another segment next year.

Although falling, dancing, rapping, reading the teleprompter accurately and general crowd-pleasing  sounds like quite the strenuous list of award show job duties, we’re more than confident that Corden is up for the gig. But how does he feel about returning to the Grammys stage?

Um, we honestly don’t know yet. He hasn’t even tweeted about his hosting gig, apparently because he’s still really pumped about performing a skit with Harry Styles.

Ah, well. We’re sure he’ll have a lot to say when the 2018 Grammy Awards air on Jan. 28, 2018, so clear your schedules and prepare for another hilarious Corden takeover.
