“Blindspot” actress Jaimie Alexander has a way to calm nerves that involves…Chewbacca?

We all have our nervous ticks, but some, like actress Jaimie Alexander’s, are far more entertaining than others.
The Blindspot star admitted that if she’s anxious on set, she’ll do an impersonation of Star Wars character, Chewbacca, allowing just enough silliness for her to calm down and get back to business. The quirk helps her get through some violent fight scenes, which she said most recently led to her breaking her nose.
“I don’t know why, if the cameras roll and I’m nervous, if I just let out a big wookie cry, then everything is cool, she told People.
She first showed off the impression earlier this year at ComicCon, where she shared in an interview that her fiance’s daughter is a major fan of the Star Wars franchise and requests the impression all the time.
Lucky for us, she gave the world a taste of her best Chewbecca in this video.
“It’s not as gutteral as Chewy, but it’s the best I can do, she said.

Blindspot returns for season 2 this Wednesday in what is expected to be a particularly dark followup to the first, as it chronicles Jaimie’s character Jane Doe’s return to the FBA after being tortured at a CIA black site.
“She’s definitely in the mindset of taking charge of her own life and really standing up for what she wants, Alexander said about the return of Jane in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
May the force be with you, Jaimie.
