Jaden Smith failed his driving test, because celebs are just like us
In what is all too relatable for many of us, Jaden Smith has once again proved that celebrities are just like us. How, you ask? Well, Jaden Smith failed his driving test, reminding us that we weren’t the only ones out there to have trouble getting behind the wheel at first. In an emotional livestream that Jaden posted to Instagram, he covered a multitude of topics that were on his mind. Namely, his very normal teenage experience of failing the only test basically every teen actually cares about passing.
As he sat in the parking lot of the Los Angeles Department of Motor Vehicles, he started off by saying he feels like a failure. “It’s going to be so funny to tell my dad [Will Smith] that I’ve failed straight up,” he said. An unidentifiable voice in the background then reassures him by saying, “You didn’t fail; you’re not failing.” Although the video is no longer on Instagram, of course his monologue lives on thanks to YouTube.

Jaden seems considerably bummed and declares, “It just shows you how sad society and life is sometimes, you know what I’m saying?” As the video goes on, Jaden elaborates that he will not spending much more time in the city of Los Angeles anyways. “I’m about to move out of L.A. There’s a lot of bad things here,” he said.
We don’t know if Jaden was just super bummed about failing his road test or if he really is unhappy in Los Angeles, but either way, we hope he is taking the necessary steps to be happy and enjoy his life.
Known for his philosophical takes, Jaden Smith’s DMV Instagram live session was nothing new. In what appears to be an attempt to motivate his viewers he says, “Create the life that you want for yourself… Everybody follow your heart, you know what I’m saying? Do exactly what you want to do, be who you want to be. Don’t try to be somebody else. It’s hard these days to really create the life you want for yourself because there’s nobody really here that’s like supporting the youth or the youth’s creativity.” Don’t worry, Jaden, you can always take it again.
