Jacob Tremblay explains how his Meeting Leo Dream happened IRL

The cutest actor on the award show circuit this season is, without a doubt, Jacob Tremblay. The nine-year-old breakout star of Room has captured literally everyone’s heart, and over the weekend, he managed to capture a highly coveted picture with Leonardo DiCaprio. Mostly due to the fact that he’s adorable, and as he explains to Ellen DeGeneres, he can totally get away with it.

Stopping by Ellen yesterday, Tremblay explains that he saw an opportunity to meet Leo, AND HE TOOK IT, so he’s a little dude after our own heart.

“I noticed Leo right in a chair behind us [at the Screen Actors Guild Awards], so then I just walked straight up to him,” he explains to Ellen. “I noticed a huge line of people trying to meet him. And I was just like, ‘Oh, I’m a kid, I can skip it.’ So I skipped it and I said hi!”

Trembly also believes that he’s the reason Leo won.

“I said good luck to [Leo], and he said good luck to me. And he won!” Trembly exclaims. “But I didn’t win. So if you want to win, you just have to come up to me.”

This is some pretty good thinking, and it also means we’ve got to keep Trembly around in Hollywood for a very long time. Fine by us!
