Jack White: Neighborhood potluck attendee extraordinaire
When you’re a world-famous musician, it can be a little difficult to find time to get involved in your neighborhood’s activities. After all, you’re probably really busy traveling all over the world, and playing for your millions of fans, so you may miss a community potluck or two. That was the case for Jack White, until recently. Last weekend, Jack decided to attend his neighborhood potluck after years of missing out. The only problem? Because he never attended, no one recognized who he was.
Jedediah Jenkins, whose mother assists with the potluck, explained the story on his Instagram with a shot of Jack and the gang that his sister had texted him. “My mom helps put on a neighborhood potluck in front of my childhood home. Our little dead-end street is populated primarily with older and quiet people,” Jedediah explained. “The houses are modest and suburban.”
However, there is a mysterious house at the end of the street that doesn’t seem to quite fit in — a “large gated historic home shrouded in trees,” Jedediah explained: “We’ve never really spotted that neighbor. But we have from time to time heard guitar coming from the garage.”
So when Jack White came to the potluck to hang out with the neighbors, many didn’t know who he was — so he had to introduce himself. “‘Jack White? nice to meet you.’ He apologized for traveling so much and missing out over the years,” Jedediah continued. Don’t believe it? Here’s the shot:
We can’t really blame anyone for not recognizing Jack White at a potluck — after all, you wouldn’t exactly expect a world-famous rocker to show up. What a lovely neighbor you are, Jack! The real question is, did he bring his fabulous guacamole?
