J.K. Rowling wants people to stop talking about her death on Twitter, and fair enough!
Most of the time, it seems, J.K. Rowling always has the best things to say to people on Twitter. However, when one fan tweeted about the famous author’s death, she was, understandably, a bit distressed.
You’ll probably be aware by now that J.K. Rowling has become the queen of the Twitter clapback. Earlier this month the author had some choice words for some trolls saying they were going to burn her books. What’s more, she isn’t afraid to speak up on matters close to her heart, and can often be seen dolling out advice to her fans on the social media platform. Essentially, Rowling has a heart of gold and should be the queen of everything.
However, after the author saw one specific tweet sent her way, she was, understandably, a bit freaked out.
The message in question contained a thoughtful but totally misguided meme about when Rowling ultimately dies.
“One day in the middle of my life the news headlines will be J.K. Rowling died today,” words atop a picture of Rowling read. “My children won’t fully understand why I left the room crying, or why I picked up a book titled, Harry Potter. Millions will pull out old toy wands. Cloaks and round rimmed glasses will be dusted off. Wands lit, they will take them to the streets, holding them high, from speakers and phones. Hogwarts will come back to life as a new generation is introduced to The Boy Who Lived.”
After seeing the picture, the author tweeted the following:
"This is very sweet, but I won't be offended if you untag me when making plans for my death."

When more chatter about her death began to occur on Twitter, she, rightfully, put a stop to it all.
Yes, let's talk more about when I die. It's cheering me right up. https://t.co/o8qrudMvW0

While it’s obviously flattering that people know that J.K. Rowling will be remembered, probably for the rest of time tbh, we can *totally* understand why seeing pictures like that meme would totally freak you out. Most people don’t want to be confronted with their own death, especially when they’re scrolling through Twitter having their morning coffee.
Seriously, tweet whatever you like. I just don't want to be tagged in on the funeral plans. It's… weird. https://t.co/d98WEwsvKl

Perhaps for the moment, then, we can all keep the subject off of Rowling’s death, and celebrate the fact that she’s working on the second instalment of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
