J.K. Rowling just revealed what our favorite characters’ wands look like in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”
J.K. Rowling knows the way to our Harry Potter-loving hearts. She just revealed the wands that Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Ginny Weasley, and Draco Malfoy will be using in the new play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. And we’re only a little bit excited.
Times a lot.
During rehearsals for the play, Rowling tweeted a photo of the wands so the world could see just exactly what we have to look forward to (A LOT, you guys).
The story of The Cursed Child catches up with Potter and his friends 19 years after the end of the original series, according to Pottermore. Potter is working at the Ministry of Magic, and he and Ginny Weasley are now married with three kids (!!!!!!).
“While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted,” the website states.
The play will premiere in London on July 30, and even though there’s an entire ocean between us and being able to witness the stage version with our own eyes, we are counting down the days. Because we’ll be content just knowing the play is happening.
But, of course, there’s always a chance that the play will make its way over to the states. So to hold over fans until that happens (fingers crossed for as long as it takes), and to give the whole world access to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the script will be published as an eBook on Pottermore and will be available in hardcover IRL. The play is the eighth Harry Potter story, and we really hope it’s not the last, and the story just goes on and on forever.
That’s a totally reasonable request, right?
