J.K. Rowling 100% supports this ‘Harry Potter’ Twitter rivalry
Just like us, J.K. Rowling spends a lot of time on Twitter. She loves to tweet about her favorite things, like tea and politics (but not necessarily together), along with dropping major info about the Wizarding World. She also keeps in contact with our favorite Harry Potter stars, too. Remember when she called out Matthew Lewis for his steamy photoshoot? Well, she’s called out Lewis once again, and this time she’s signaling someone else out, too: Tom Felton. Lewis and Felton recently got into a back and forth on Twitter, and Rowling loved it just as much as we did.
Neville and Draco’s tweets, er, Lewis and Felton’s tweets started off as a friendly conversation. Lewis happened to check out a trailer for Felton’s new movie, Risen, and tweeted that he’s “psyched” for it.
That’s sweet and encouraging. Except that Felton replied back with some fighting words, suggesting that Slytherin and Gryffindor are about to face off against each other on the Quidditch field, and Lewis better be prepared for it.
Oh, now he’s started it. Lewis replied back with another Hogwarts house pun, and we want to know exactly what it means to be “Slytherinsed.” That’s gotta be a bad thing, right?
Then Rowling jumped into the mix, too (she must have been watching this rivalry unfold in real time, just like us). As she writes, she’s so proud of “[her] boys.” They’re keeping House rivalries alive even well after they’ve graduated.
We support this little feud, too. Neither one has responded back yet, but they might be getting ready to take on the other. If Lewis and Felton do decide to settle this with a Wizard’s duel behind the Herbology Greenhouse, we’ll let you know. Rowling will probably serve as referee.
