Check out J.K. Rowling’s absolutely magical and completely awesome Harry Potter sketches

J.K. Rowling is proof that you can achieve anything in life if you put your mind to it. The writer and philanthropist wrote the first Harry Potter book when she was broke, often making notes on napkins in cafés. Initially, she struggled to get the book published, writing almost all of the first two books in the series by hand or on a typewriter.

Of course, things changed dramatically for Rowling after the publication of Harry Potter, as the book became a literary and cinematic phenomenon the likes of which the world had never seen before.

Now Rowling is one of the most successful women in the world, and has just seen the release of the eighth instalment in Harry’s adventures, The Cursed Child, both on stage and in script form. She wore Golden Snitch shoes to the premiere, too, which is amazing.

Similarly, the writer has penned her first screenplay in the shape of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, an expansion of the wizarding world, and she’ll release new companion e-books in September, too.

Basically, J.K. Rowling is an absolute queen.

What you might not know about J.K. Rowling, however, is that she’s also a really brilliant artist.

Basically, a bunch of sketches drawn by Rowling have surreptitiously appeared on Pottermore, the online portal to all things Harry Potter.

Previously, the images had only been seen as snapshots in videos and other promotional material. Now they’re online in all their glory and we LOVE them.

Snape looking seriously sinister in a potions class.

There are a bunch more, too, which depict the Weasleys, Harry’s arrival at Privet Drive, the Dursley’s living room, and the Mirror of Erised.

We love getting a snapshot into anything that’s related to Harry Potter, and totally adore these detailed sketches by Rowling. It’s amazing to see how she pictured the scenes in her head when she was writing them, and we’re so grateful she’s decided to share them with us.
