Item of the Day: Tulip Tie-Dye Kit

I used to tie-dye all the time growing up. These tie-dye experiences always involved someone’s mom dumping RIT into a bucket of water and all of us dunking our shirts in haphazardly. It was so hard and my shirts never came out the way my perfectionist-self wanted them to. So, when I ran to Jo-Ann Fabric to get tie-dye supplies this weekend for a craft project with my little, I was anticipating the worst. That was when I found these Tulip Tie-Dye Kits. They had packs with one, three, five and twelve colors. Each pack came with plastic squirt bottles containing bright colored dye, plastic gloves, rubber bands and an instruction booklet containing different tie-dye techniques. I went with a three pack containing navy, green and purple. It cost $10.99 and was totally worth it. We tie-dyed four t-shirts and had a great time. Using the dye bottles was so much easier than dunking, kept the mess to a minimum and allowed us to create some really cool designs. We even tie-dyed a heart!

I bought mine at Jo-Ann Fabric, but you can also find them on the Tulip website or at Michael’s.
