Item of the Day: Miss Jessie’s Quick Curls
I used to feel like my hair just wasn’t made for this world. I was stumbling through the world of hair care, using whatever curl-specific mousse or gel I could find at the drugstore, inevitably hating the crunchy or greasy texture they gave my hair. Until Carrie Murphy told me about Miss Jessie’s Quick Curls.
I’ll warn you upfront that Miss Jessie’s is a little more expensive than your basic drugstore stuff. The bottle I have was about $32 at Target, but you absolutely get what you pay for. Trust me when I say that I’m incredibly cheap, and I’d never pay this much for something that wasn’t out-of-this-world amazing.
If you’re a curly-haired lady, you need to get yourself Quick Curls right now. Quick Curls doesn’t make my hair stiff or heavy. Instead, it helps my hair form totally natural, soft curls. As the name suggests, it really does dry quickly and it smells great.
My hair is fine and wavy/curly, but in Miss Jessie’s shop you can find products for every kind of curl. Their website says that Quick Curls is perfect for “our beautiful white gals,” which is a description that I very much love. From now on, I’m going to refer to myself exclusively as a beautiful white gal everywhere that I can (Twitter bio? Resume?).
Miss Jessie’s is also a favorite of tons of celebrities, including Joss Stone, Alicia Keys and The Roots. Seriously, if you aren’t going to take hair care advice from Questlove, then that’s your problem.
You can order Quick Curls from the Miss Jessie’s website.
