Item of the Day: A Wrinkle in Time: The Graphic Novel
I’m going through a period of deep nostalgia at the moment and this revamp of one of my favorite novels hits the spot. With my love story and my love of art all rolled into one, the graphic novelization of A Wrinkle in Time fulfills almost all my desires in one.
The art is gorgeous, the characters are familiar and there’s just enough nuance in the retelling that it all feels new again.
I really love this new book and I hope you’ll give it a chance. Hope Larson pays homage to one of my favorite literary families beautifully. With distinct shading and plays of color, she indicates dream states, real time and other worlds. And it’s been so long since I reread the original novel that her drawings of the characters only heighten my experience rather than clashing with the faces I’ve built up in my head for decades.
Revisit the Murry family with this gorgeous novel and maybe introduce someone new to the story with A Wrinkle in Time: The Graphic Novel.
