Isla Fisher would like you to know that she’s not Amy Adams (and neither of them are Jessica Chastain)

Most people would find it annoying to be constantly mistaken for another person, but Isla Fisher is completely used to it. She’s even embracing the public (and even Lady Gaga) confusing her for doppelgänger and fellow actress Amy Adams.
Here’s a quick refresher to get everyone on the same page. Aside from both being famous actresses, both having red hair and both being just a few inches a part in height and two years a part in age, the two women are very much different people. Even if Amy notoriously appeared on Isla’s Christmas card last year.
And just to further clarify, it was Amy Adams that starred in Man of Steel, American Hustle, Enchanted and Arrival. You’ll recognize Isla Fisher from Wedding Crashers, Hot Rod, Definitely, Maybe, Confessions of a Shopaholic and Arrested Development.
This week, Isla Fisher went on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote her new book, Marge in Charge. While there, she told him that fans still get the two confused — and she doesn’t bother correcting them sometimes, Lady Gaga included. She recounted the time the singer came up to her at an Oscars after party and totally thought she was Amy.
"She says, 'Thank you, your performance in American Hustle, Amy, was...' and I'm thinking, oh my gosh it's Lady Gaga, I love her so much, I don't want to tell her the truth, so I just gracefully thanked her," she recounted to Kimmel.
She then says that’s when Amy Adams arrived at the party: “So I’m like, there’s Isla Fisher.”
To help clear up confusion, Isla graced us all with a PSA to help us understand that she and Amy Adams are, in fact, completely different people.
"Let me explain," she says. "Amy Adams has auburn red. My hair is light auburn red... Amy Adams has five Oscar nominations, I'm a member of SAG. Amy Adams plays Maya in Zero Dark Thirty. Oh wait, that was Jessica Chastain."

Isla isn’t the only one to suffer, though. Amy Adams is on the other end of the confusion, too, though she doesn’t quite know why.
“I get Isla Fisher all the time, still,” Adams once told Vanity Fair. “And I know Isla, and for a while our kids went to the same dance school… When I’m with Isla, we both look at one another and say, ‘I get it but I don’t get it.’”
Our hearts go out to Isla Fisher, Amy Adams, and Jessica Chastain.
