The internet is currently losing it over how giraffes should wear their neckties
In the history of animal-related questions, “How should a giraffe wear a necktie?” might not compare to “Why did the chicken cross the road?” or “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” However, we’re mighty glad that the internet has brought this giraffe-related query to our attention because seriously: Where would a giraffe wear their tie?
It all started when comedian Jeremy Hammond asked the Twitterverse on November 17th:
"When giraffes go to work do you think they put the tie at the top or bottom of their necks?"
For some context — and with a little help from a Paint-like program — he provided a side-by-side photographic comparison of a giraffe wearing a drawn-on tie both ways.

With over 8,000 retweets, Hammond has certainly struck a chord with the internet. And the replies to his question have provided plenty of hilarious commentary — and a potential answer.
Some people have scoured the internet for giraffe interpretations from books, movies, or art to provide insight:

Other people just have more questions that make the whole matter even more complicated:
I feel the premise is wrong. A human's tie covers the majority of its wearer's neck. A giraffe's should too. pic.twitter.com/XQMIgHqcEI

Excellent question! We'll let the community provide an answer, but were wondering if you knew how a dog would wear pants? pic.twitter.com/zbrtyAaYvf

Despite this controversial topic, there may just be an answer.
And that would be that the giraffe would wear its necktie on the BOTTOM.
That’s right, most people think that the giraffe would wear its tie at the base of its neck, not the top of its neck. There was even evidence to prove why this is the correct answer.

Next time you see an image or video of a giraffe running in the African wild or next time you see a giraffe in person grazing at the zoo, just imagine that giraffe has a very important business meeting to attend and is rocking a necktie. And then remember to thank the weird world of the internet for providing you with that unnecessary — but totally amazing — imagery.
