A few Instagrams from the ‘Star Wars’ premiere have us crazy excited
As of last night, there are now people in this world who have seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The movie held its world premiere last night in Los Angeles, in an event that was described as “bigger than the Oscars.” The red carpet stretched all the way down Hollywood Blvd., and the decor included ever-changing screens with the film’s posters on them, giant lightsaber lights, and stormtroopers as far as the eye could see. It was everything you could have ever wanted for a Star Wars premiere, and more.
The event brought out the whole cast and crew, along with a huge number of Hollywood stars, and also super Star Wars fans (looking at you, JGL). While — thankfully — details about the movie are still being closely guarded, pictures from the premiere have left us wanting so much more. At least for the next three days (or two, if you’re seeing the movie Thursday night) these images are going to have to hold us over. Start getting excited!
Did the enclosed carpet kinda look like one of the Death Star’s landing bays? Sure did.
Stormtroopers took the red carpet by… storm (sorry).
Our new favorite Star Wars heroine, Daisy Ridley, said she felt like a princess (agreed).
Ridley also stopped along the way to take pictures with fans dressed as her character (and one dressed as Finn).
Speaking of Finn, John Boyega looked amazing in his purple tux.
Gwendoline Christie — the first female Star Wars villain — looked ahMAZing.
Lupita Nyong’o wore a dress that shimmered and sparkled and explained, “I thought I’d bring the galaxy with me.”
The Star Wars stars weren’t the only ones in attendance. Ben Schwartz looks like he’s having the time of his life.
Olaf himself, Josh Gad, snagged an invite, and hopefully gave a warm hug to Chewie.
Rob Lowe managed to find Luke (along with Carrie Fisher — and major props to Fisher’s daughter, Billie, for the great photobomb).
Here’s the guy who started it all, and the guy who’s now in charge: George Lucas and J.J. Abrams.
And last but not least, the real star of Star Wars: BB-8.
IS IT DECEMBER 18TH YET??
