Iman posted a rare photo of Lexi, her gorgeous daughter with David Bowie
In the year since David Bowie’s passing, we’ve been fortunate enough to experience pieces of him through his wife Iman. They were married for over 20 years and share a daughter named Alexandra (known as ‘Lexi’) together, who rarely surfaces on social media.
Yesterday, Iman shared a rare photo of Lexi on Instagram, and just like her parents, this 16-year-old looks beyond comfortable in front of the camera.
It’s a gorgeous photo of Lexi doused in sunlight and smiling with cherry lips. (And who would we be if we didn’t mention the awesome touch of badass-ery that is her nose ring!)
On her 16th birthday, Iman posted a photo of Lexi and described her as, “classy with a hint of sassy.” That seems accurate!
Iman has been very active on Instagram lately, and many of her posts are David Bowie-related. She continues to be his biggest fan, and we love how she’s inspiring others to discover his music though frequent posts that share his achievements.
She also posts inspirational quotes that remind us of the important things in life, like, “You don’t need someone to complete you, you only need someone to accept you completely.” This is so relevant, no matter what circumstance you find yourself in — and can definitely apply to friends as well as romantic partners.
We’re sending so much love to Iman and Lexi. Dealing with the loss of Bowie is painful to say the least, but we’re so glad they have each other to lean on.
