Iggy and Britney’s ‘Pretty Girls’ video is every ’80s movie (plus a Samsung commercial)

Let’s be real: If someone had told us, “Let’s put Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea together for an ’80s alien movie parody,” we would’ve been scratching our heads as to how that’d work. But Spears has dusted off her dance moves and Azalea enunciates to put together a campy, catchy ode to feminine wiles, freakin’ in the Jeep, and strategic product placement.

The video for their unlikely collab “Pretty Girls,” which is reportedly on Spears’ follow-up album to 2013’s Britney Jean, is modeled after the 1988 comedy Earth Girls are Easy and gently ribs both women’s public perceptions while providing some serious throwback ’80s eye candy. The crimped hair! The amazing printed shorts on the car wash dancers! The giant neon plastic earrings! Combined with Spears’ over-the-top acting and Azalea’s decidedly robotic expressions, the “Pretty Girls” video is full of laughs, sass, and .GIFable moments (like the money flying out of the ATM. Pure. Gold.).

Of course, this being a popular music video, there’s some pretty egregious product placement throughout it. However, one of the most visible instances is played pretty cleverly: Spears’s brick phone is transformed into a Samsung Galaxy — fitting, considering the video’s extraterrestrial theme.

The competition for Summer Jam 2015 has been on for a while, but Spears and Azalea have put out yet another contender. Watch the video below, and just try to get the chorus out of your head.
