Iggy Azalea’s life is a “blank page” after splitting from Nick Young

When a relationship gets tough, it can feel like walking through a minefield, and that struggle is multiplied tenfold when it’s happening in the public eye. Iggy Azalea, who got engaged to NBA star Nick Young last June, knows this to be true, since her relationship struggles have been broadcasted all over the world these past few months. On Sunday night, she took to Instagram to announce their split.

The “Fancy” singer screenshot a “note” on her phone to explain her their breakup.

“I genuinely wish Nick the best,” she wrote. “It’s never easy to part ways with the person you planned your entire future with, but futures can be rewritten and as of today mine is a blank page.”

We think Iggy is approaching this difficult situation with exactly the right attitude. While taking a stand for what you believe in isn’t always easy, it’s important to listen to your emotions. We fully believe that the couple, who were dating a year and a half before their engagement, know that going their separate ways will be what makes them the happiest.

Like Iggy says, her future is wide open before her — and it looks pretty good. She just took a gig with X Factor Australia, and has a new single coming out this summer. Ending an engagement is never easy, but we’re happy Iggy made the hard decision that will ultimately open the door to even better things.
