An ‘iCarly’ Reboot Is Happening With the Original Cast and Fans Are Freaking
Wake up the members of 'iCarly' nation, it's your time to be.
Oh smoosh yeah! Paramount Plus has ordered a revival of the Nickelodeon series iCarly, which is great news for those who need a healthy dose of nostalgia to get them through the hard times of 2020. But what’s even better is that original iCarly stars including Miranda Cosgrove, Jerry Trainor, and Nathan Kress have all reportedly signed on to appear in the reboot series, according to Variety. And um, this is a lot to process.
iCarly aired on Nickelodeon for six seasons from 2007 through 2012 and followed the adventures of Carly Shay (a.k.a web star iCarly, played by Cosgrove), her brother Spencer (Trainor), friends Freddie (Kress) and Sam (Jennette McCurdy), and frenemy Gibby (Noah Munck). During it’s original airing, iCarly broke popularity records for Nickelodeon and jokes, characters, and bits from the show are still making the rounds on social media today—”What’s Gibby Thinkin’ About?” for example, is currently going viral on TikTok.
There’s no word on just how involved Cosgrove, Trainor, and Kress will be in the upcoming reboot—or, if other stars including McCurdy and Munck are in talks of also signing on. But the confirmation that the revival is happening is good enough for us at this current juncture.
But…Jennette…? Are you there, Jennette? It’s us—the people who love you.
Though the return of Gibby, his little brother Guppy (Ethan Munck), and T-Bo (BooG!e), the manager of Groovy Smoothie, would be a welcome addition to the reboot cast.
Wake up the members of my nation, there’s suddenly so much to look forward to. We’ll keep you updated with more info about the iCarly revival as it unfolds.
