There will probably be even MORE Hunger Games than we thought

Do you ever lie awake at night, staring up at the ceiling, wondering what on Earth you are going to do with yourself once Mockingjay -Part 2 comes out and there are no more Hunger Games movies to look forward to? Don’t feel alone, we’ve all been there.

Except the thing is, Christmas came early this year and Deadline reported that  Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer made a statement on Friday explaining that he’s “actively looking at some development and thinking about prequel and sequel possibilities” re: Hunger Games franchise.

PREQUEL? Like maybe seeing Katniss and Peeta’s mentor Haymitch in the games? Or just doing a movie centered around my personal favorite competitor (and the sexiest man to EVER wield a trident) Finnick Odair? Oh, be still my heart, Finnick Odair.

(Spoiler alert for the three people who live on Earth who haven’t read/seen The Hunger Games for the following sequel talk.)

SEQUEL? Like maybe one of Katniss and Peeta’s kids have to compete in a brand-new Hunger Games? I know they were pretty clear on “No more games ever” in that final book, but you guys, this is PANEM we’re talking about, I don’t trust that country farther than I can throw it.

As long as author Suzanne Collins is calling the creative shots, we’ll take as many Hunger Games sequels and prequels as Lionsgate can throw at us.

Other fun Games news: on July 1, 2015, Feltheimer reports that an exhibition with “high-tech interactive galleries, never before seen content, hundreds of costumes and props” will begin a six-month run at Discovery Times Square. Also, Lionsgate is in “significant conversations” with one theme park to do “an attraction.” Like a RIDE? Like a HUNGER GAMES RIDE? Yes forever.

We’re by no means done with dystopian YA, so bring it, Lionsgate, bring it ON.
