Hugh Jackman thinks this Bollywood star should replace him as Wolverine

Logan is currently in theaters, and we’re already trying to peg who will replace Hugh Jackman as the next Wolverine. Some have set their sights on the young Dafne Keen to grow into a new rendition of the role. But, according to Jackman, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan could be the next burly superhero.
However, don’t get too excited. It’s all just a bunch of what ifs for now. Like, if 20th Century Fox decided to go in the recasting route — which it’s highly likely — Jackman hopes they consider Khan.
In a recent interview, Jackman said:
"I hope other people play him. Maybe Shah Rukh Khan can play him. Who knows, y’know?"
Hailed as the King of Bollywood, Khan is quite the icon in the Indian film industry.
We’re thinking that Jackman’s choice is because of Khan’s acting. But, his facial structure definitely could hold some weight, too.
Jackman added that he’d be open to seeing other people play Wolverine, too. He said:
"The comic book series is so good because you've had so many people interpreting this role over so many years. I think there’s six origin stories. Everyone puts their own stamp on it. This is a great character. I’ll be really interested to see how I feel about it. I want it to be really great, but I don’t want it to be that much better than me. Just a little bit better is fine, but if everyone’s like, 'Oh thank God,' now...I might find that a little difficult."
We’re totally mourning Jackman’s last hurrah as the iconic superhero. He’s played the role for almost two decades! It feels nice to know that he’s on the lookout for the next clawed warrior. But, we’re totally going to miss him.
Here’s to hoping that 20th Century Fox’s next move is a good one. One that makes sense for the franchise, and leaves us with the same feeling Jackman’s portrayal has.
