A huge green fireball shot through the Midwestern sky and fulfilled our sci-fi fantasies
Wanna know a thing that happened earlier this morning? A giant, green fireball FELL OUT OF THE SKY in the midwest.
According to the American Meteor Society, more than 185 people across 9 different states (and Ontario, Canada) reported seeing the fireball streak out of the sky around 1:30 a.m. Monday.
Fireballs are, essentially, giant AF meteors. The AMS said it traveled southwest to northeast toward Lake Michigan.
“The green fireball was seen primarily from Illinois and Wisconsin but witnesses from Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Iowa, New York, Kentucky, Minnesota and Ontario (Canada) also reported the event, wrote the AMS on its website.

People in Wisconsin even reported feeling a building shake as the meteor streaked by, while others said they heard a sonic boom when the fireball entered the atmosphere, according to local news outlet Fox 6.
Not sure about you, but if I saw something like that, I may or may not start prepping for an alien invasion.
