Eddie Redmayne stars in this emotional PSA for House Hufflepuff
All together now, HUFFLEPUFF AND PROUD! Yes, it’s about time the fourth best house at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizadary got their time in the sun, and the time is now. Newt Scamander is a Hufflepuff, and he’s about to get his own movie — and we’ve got Eddie Redmayne here to remind us that Hufflepuffs are way more exciting than they might come off.
And even if Hufflepuffs are ~boring~ at least their common room is right next to the Hogwarts kitchen, so you know they’ve always got snacks. That’s a bonus.
In a new video for MTV News,Redmayne (who stars as Newt in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) makes an emotional plea for those in the other Hogwarts houses not to overlook the badgers.
“I am a Hufflepuff,” Redmayne starts off his video before pausing, “Actually, no, I’m a *proud* Hufflepuff. Be proud, stand tall.”
Redmayne comments that Hufflepuff is actually J.K. Rowling’s favorite house, and if you’re like “lol no it’s not,” IT’S TRUE. Rowing (who is a Gryffindor) LOVES HUFFLEPUFFS. She even declared that 2016 would be the year of the Hufflepuff, and from the looks of Fantastic Beasts, it sure feels like that prophecy is about to come true.
