How to use the new Snapchat fonts from the update people are freaking out about

Guys, we know you’re upset. But Snapchat is trying to do a good thing here. In an effort to tailor the social media app toward personal connections, Snapchat underwent a pretty major update. Users aren’t particularly happy with the changes, but we’re all going to have to come around to them eventually. So let’s start looking at the positive changes — like the new Snapchat fonts.

According to a February 8th press release, Snapchat introduced its new Caption Styles feature to iOS and Android users. These new font styles include Glow, Brush, Italic, Gradient, Rainbow, and Old English, to name just a few. It’s easy to test out all of the above.

Simply start typing on your photo or video like you would normally, and then select one of the font options that pop up below your text block.

Users can apply more than one caption to a Snap like you would a sticker. You’re also able to alter the color of these new fonts and Caption Styles, as you would in the older version of Snapchat via the color scale. And like the old days, your text size can be altered by pinching and pulling.

So what if Snapchat also decided to add Comic Sans to its font selection? Comic Sans can be cool sometimes…right?

If your app doesn’t allow you to switch between Caption Styles, you may have to wait a bit longer than the rest of us. Otherwise, contact Snapchat Support to see if they can help you out.
