How to watch Queen of the World, the Queen Elizabeth II documentary

When it comes to monarchs, we can’t get enough of Queen Elizabeth II. So when we heard that HBO was releasing a new documentary film about the queen’s life called Queen of the World, we couldn’t wait to watch it.

Queen of the World premieres tonight, October 1st. It will be available on HBO Go and HBO Now starting at 8 p.m. ET. But if you can’t tune in tonight, don’t worry. It’ll be available on demand on HBO streaming services on October 2nd.

The documentary is sure to provide fascinating details about the queen’s life and reign. The HBO website notes that Queen of the World will “offer unique insights into Her Majesty The Queen’s role as a figure on the global stage.” Specifically, it will explore her position as the leader of the British Commonwealth, a group of countries that once belonged to the British Empire and now contains about 2.4 billion people.

Queen of the World boasts “unprecedented access” to the queen. But many other royals will make appearances in the documentary as wellThe film reportedly includes footage of Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, among others. Fingers crossed it includes her royal Corgis as well.

The film was directed by Matt Hill and created with help from executive producer Nick Kent, producer Faye Hamilton, and writer/producer Robert Hardman.

Aside from her incredible influence as head of the Commonwealth, the length of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign alone makes her a worthy documentary subject. In 2016, she became the longest-ruling monarch in the world, Time reported. She has been on the throne for 66 years.

Queen of the World is sure to be a fascinating look at the queen’s historic reign. We’ll definitely be watching.
