Here’s how you can support the Time’s Up movement today
The Time’s Up movement had strong representation at the 2018 Golden Globes. After seeing so many actors wear black and sport pins signifying that the era of silence regarding abuse was over, you may have wondered how to donate to the Time’s Up movement. It turns out that there’s an easy way to support the many women who have experienced sexual harassment and assault in the workplace — and that’s to make a financial contribution toward their legal defense fund.
Time’s Up got its start on January 1st of this year. Backed by women like Natalie Portman, Reese Witherspoon, Shonda Rhimes, and Eva Longoria, the group’s mission is to make sure things change in the way we report and talk about sexual harassment — and provide a way for women to legally fight back. “We stand with all those who have endured sexual harassment: those who have come forward and those who have decided to remain quiet,” the movement has stated. “It’s time for change, and we must act now.”
You can donate to Time’s Up through their official GoFundMe. The money they raise, which will remain at the National Women’s Law Center, will go toward the lawyers that’ll be on hand to help anyone who wants to speak up. Not only will this help make women feel safer and more supported, but it’ll continue to send the message that sexual harassment should never be accepted.
So far, the fund has raised over $16 million — and that number continues to climb.
Oh what a night! To witness the sea of solidarity tonight filled my heart with joy. We’re going to help women everywhere to have a safer and more fair work environment. And of course I had to quote my dear friend @Lin_Manuel “this is not a moment, it’s a movement!” #TIMESUP pic.twitter.com/XyrC0MYfST

Based on the great need, the movement will be continuously accepting money and upping their goal. By donating, you’ll be able to help women who might not have been able to find the courage to speak up until today.
Very encouraged by so many magnificent women unifying and standing together in solidarity saying enough is enough tonight. I stand by those women and all my sisters around the world. United we cannot be divided. #TIMESUP
