How much are Super Bowl tickets? You may not want to know
Super Bowl Sunday is this weekend! On February 4th, the New England Patriots will face off against the Philadelphia Eagles in what will surely be a riveting game. Many will enjoy the most-anticipated football game of the year from the comfort of our own homes. But others were lucky enough to snag Super Bowl tickets. According to SeatGeek.com, on average, a Super Bowl ticket will set you back $2,500 to $3,000. But the value depends on the teams playing and when you purchase the tickets.
SeatGeek.com reports that tickets for Super Bowl 49 between the Seahawks and the Patriots went for an average $4,314. Tickets for Super Bowl 48, on the other hand, went for an average $2,536.
This year, SeatGeek.com predicted that the cheapest ticket available for the Eagles vs. Patriots game at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis would cost around $3,626. As of Monday, January 29th, the cheapest ticket on StubHub.com was $3,500. As of today, Tuesday, January 30th, it looks like the cheapest seats available now cost around $7,500.
It was predicted that the most expensive ticket one can buy for this year’s Super Bowl would cost about $175,790. Right now, StubHub.com has a Loft Suite ticket listed for $300,000. (Ah hah — we’re going to have to pass on that one…)
According to CBSSports.com, Super Bowl ticket prices are up 63% this year, mostly thanks to Eagles fans. Tickets have been bought by fans in all 50 states and even by fans from 17 different countries.
"Eagles fans lead the way with 14 percent of sales on StubHub coming from the Pennsylvania area compared to 11 percent from Massachusetts," CBSSports.com learned from StubHub spokesperson Cameron Papp.
