The Underwoods make a chilling threat to the nation in the first trailer for “House of Cards” Season 5

Lies, deception, light treason, murder, the backdrop of the Oval Office. Just another day in the Underwood Administration.

After a very long wait, Netflix has finally dropped the first full-length trailer for House of Cards Season 5. If you were expecting things to have toned down a bit since we last saw Frances and Claire Underwood, think again. They are very much doing what they do best — which is conspiring, and also conspiring to kill people. Never change, Underwoods.

While we don’t know a whole lot about the upcoming season, we do know that the events will slightly mirror the real life 2016 Presidential Election. Remember how much fun that was? Well, we’re going to relive it again, to an extent. As the trailer shows us — and, sorry in advance, you might get a horrible flashback — Presidential Candidate Will Conway, a democrat, can’t help but stare in disbelief at an election map that is predominantly red.

As we watch the terror unfold in the trailer, we hear Frank Underwood’s soothing voice as he tells us that “the American people don’t know what’s best for them. I do. I know exactly what they need.” He then makes a pretty good threat, suggesting “Underwood 2016, 2020, 2024, 2028, 2032.”

Pretty sure you can’t do that, Frank.

For some reason, this season of House of Cards is dropping on a Tuesday. Yea, Tuesday. Tuesday, May 30th, to be exact. This is a first for Netflix, who always drops new series on Fridays, so then we can have the whole weekend to binge. Not this time. There’s more than likely a very good reason as to why House of Cards is coming to us on a Tuesday, we just don’t know it yet. Netflix works in mysterious ways.

So, go ahead and request that day off of work right now. You don’t want to be the only person not binging House of Cards in 30 days.
