Here’s a house completely covered in ice, because winter isn’t quite done with us yet

Not that anyone needed a reminder, but here’s a house completely covered in ice, ya know, in case you had any doubts that winter isn’t quite done with us yet. While you’re curled up with your favorite book and mug of something warm (and possibly spiked), we certainly hope that this week’s blizzard conditions won’t leave your dwelling looking like a house-shaped ice display. If so, the best thing you can do is accept that there’s no way you can possibly make winter feel shorter, and take it in stride like photographer John Kucko, the owner of the ice-encased home in question.

This past Sunday, Kucko decided to stop by his beach home, which sits on the shore of Lake Ontario in Webster, New York. Upon arriving, he was shocked to find the home entirely encased in layers of ice. According to CBS News, the fact that the home faces the lake and lacks a retaining wall — combined with bone-chilling temperatures and high winds that blew through the area — produced this incredible frozen scene.

Kucko shared the footage of his icy home on Facebook after people speculated that the image was Photoshopped.

"30 seconds of absolutely frigid Lake Ontario shoreline," he captioned the video. "Some parts look apocalyptic up there. The violent wind we've had the last five days has taken a toll."

Unbelievable. As for entering the sealed home, it seems like the homeowners plan to let Mother Nature handle that job as well, with Kucko telling CBS that they *might* return when the temps warm up.
