Hourglass Cosmetics announced they will be 100% vegan, and we are here for it
While there have been many exciting beauty trends in the last few years — contouring, the return of glitter, matte liquid lipstick — none have us quite as ecstatic as when our favorite brands pledge to be cruelty-free and vegan. Vlogger-fave brand Hourglass just announced it plans to be 100% vegan in the very near future and we really couldn’t be more thrilled about it.
It really does seem like a major tide is turning on the animal rights front when it comes to cosmetics. Brands like Too Faced, Winky Lux, and of course, Kat Von D Beauty are really leading the fray when it comes to developing high-end, gorgeous makeup made without animal products. It makes sense that an ever-growing brand like Hourglass would make a bold commitment. Not only is it wonderful for animals, but it ensures that they’ll get an even larger following of animal-loving fans.
Hourglass has not only committed to going 100% vegan in the coming years, but they have also partnered with an animal rights organization to raise awareness and money for animals in need. They’ve created a lovely vegan leather makeup bag in partnership with the Nonhuman Rights Project, an animal advocacy group, and you’re definitely going to want to stash your goodies inside this bag.
Hourglass Cosmetics plans to be fully vegan by the year 2020, which isn’t too far off.

Hourglass was already committed to being cruelty-free, but til now there were still animal-derived ingredients in their products. Going completely vegan means that aside from the fact that no animals will be used for testing, the ingredients used in the makeup and tools will be free of animal products as well.
