Hostess has given their classic Sno Balls a complete makeover, and we’re not sure how we feel right now

All of our hearts collectively broke when we heard that Hostess, the OG brown bag lunch dessert, was going out of business. Luckily, they managed to pull through, but you have to see what Hostess is doing to Sno Balls because we don’t know how to feel and, like, maybe you can tell us?

The classic Sno Balls are, like most of Hostess’s nostalgically delicious options, prepackaged cakes that could probably outlast a nuclear apocalypse and still be delicious (which made them perfect for bringing to school as kids, ’cause let’s be real, the amount of wear and tear your lunch box went through circa age seven is not dissimilar to nuclear fallout).

Now, though, Hostess has revealed that they’ll be releasing Sno Ball Ice Cream. Part of us is ready to pre-order about four hundred of these puppies, and part of us is sort of like… why are you doing this to a classic?!

The caption reads:

"New Hostess Snoballs ice cream bars will be out soon! They consist of chocolate and vanilla ice cream covered in pink coconut flakes. These will be produced by Nestlé, which also makes Haagen Dazs and Edy's/Dreyer's, so you know it's gonna be gooood."

We’re definitely going to take Hostess’ word for it, and are super keen to try it (chocolate? Vanilla? Coconut? ICE CREAM? Imagine our voices getting louder in each sentence because YEAH), but there’s also something a little unsettling about seeing somebody you grew up with change so much, y’know?

We guess this is just part of growing up.
