Don’t worry, here’s photographic proof Hodor and Bran are going to be BFFs IRL forever
SPOILERS! Spoilers. Spoilers for last week’s episode of Game of Thrones, “The Door.” But if you’ve somehow managed to spend the last four days completely avoiding all spoilers for “The Door” you deserve a medal.
As you know, the closing moments of “The Door” saw our hero, Hodor, holding the door of the weirwood tree shut so Bran and Meera could escape. In the process, it’s assumed — and practically confirmed, though we didn’t see it happen on screen — that Hodor sacrificed his life to do this. We’ll miss you, Hodor. Hodor!
The person who might miss Hodor the most, though, is Isaac Wright, who plays Bran on the show. He’s been teaming up, and sharing scenes, with Kristian Nairn (who plays Hodor, formerly known as Wylis), since the very beginning of the show, so their on-screen bond is quite deep. It’s also beautifully transferred off-screen, and we are here for this.
Recently, the two got together to do one of the best best friend things ever: eat cake. And not just any cake. But A DOOR cake.
Hold on. ???
As Nairm writes on his Twitter, “Even after all he’s done to poor hodor. I’m still sharing my cake with Isaac,” and oy, hold on again, we need something to clutch tight and sob into. false
Wright also posted a picture to Twitter, further cementing the fact that these two are buds for life, no matter where they are, or what dimension they happen to be in. false
Friends that travel to meet the Three-Eyed Raven together, feast on Door cake together. HODOR!
