The Honest Trailer for “The Princess Bride” basically reaffirms that this is the best movie ever made

We’re gathered here today to talk about the Honest Trailer for The Princess Bride. While we know that Honest Trailers can be quite sassy when it comes to reviewing (read: heckling, spoofing, mocking, etc.) movies, there’s really nothing to complain about when it comes to the epic love story between Westley and Buttercup. It’s true love! It’s also a great action-adventure-medieval-comedy! Seriously, there is nothing to dislike about The Princess Bride. Try and name one thing.

You can’t, can you?

In case you’ve forgotten, The Princess Bride is the real movie about the made-up book based on a real book about the same made-up that the real movie is based on. Got all of that? Good. It’s the love story between the farm boy turned pirate (swoon) and Buttercup, the farm-owning orphan turned princess (the dream). This isn’t the kind of love story that happens every day, you know, and that’s why we love it so much.

The trailer can’t help but poke fun at the far-fetched plot of the story, that involves kidnapping, death, the fact that Wesley is kind of a dick, Buttercup is a pain, and their relationship is “based on him doing chores for her.” But hey, we’ll take whatever classic love story we can get.

Also, everyone in the movie is just so gosh darn polite. Even when they’re trying to kill one another, they’re carrying on full conversations! How thoughtful! It’s the action-drama-kid’s-movie-for-adults that we all love and cherish. It’s also on Netflix right now, you’re welcome.
