Holiday Gift Guide For the Workaholic
If you’re anything like me, you know what it’s like to work 12+ hours a day and to have bedtime be the highlight of your day. Well, while duty calls, there are still ways to make your professional life slightly less painful and a little more fun. Here’s some ideas for the workaholic in your life.
Call It Spring Anthericum Bag in Cognac – $45 at Call It Spring
One thing every professional lady (and every lady in general) can always use is a good, quality bag. I personally carry way too much of my life with me everywhere I go, which means I need a roomy bag to fit it all in – without sacrificing a bit of stylishness. I absolutely love this Call It Spring bag and take it with me everywhere I go – part briefcase, part school satchel, all amazing. And affordable!
Vega One Vanilla Chai All-In-One Nutritional Shake – $29.99 at Amazon
Just because you’re busy and can’t stop for a full meal every day at lunch doesn’t mean you should have to sacrifice your health because of it. I generally have a Vega One shake every day, and I absolutely love them as part of my routine. The best part is, all of Vega One’s stuff is vegan, has no gluten or soy, and contains no added sugar, artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners, so there are no weird energy crashes to contend with. Oh, and if all that isn’t enough, they have a ton of flavours, all of which are delicious.
Kate Spade Nesting Boxes – $54 at Dormify
I’m all about organization, as I seem to have so much STUFF that I don’t know what to do with, from random papers to makeup and other doodads (as my nana would call them). Luckily, there are stylish organization options and I absolutely LOVE these Kate Spade boxes. They’re super sturdy and can hold quite a lot, and they stack nicely on top of my book shelf to keep all my junk out of the way. Love these!
Keurig B130 DeskPro Coffee Maker – $79.99 at Overstock
I don’t know any workaholics that aren’t addicted to caffeine. While I tend to switch between cups of tea and coffee throughout the day just to mix things up, getting a Keurig K-Cup machine has been an absolute godsend. I’m obsessed with how many different varieties of pods there are to get. In fact, I think I might go make a hazelnut Donut Shop coffee right now. Either way, this thing is a GREAT investment. I keep mine on a table beside my bed so I can have coffee at the ready at any time.
HB Super Comeback Hoodie in Gray – $92 at HB Super
I’m lucky because I get to work from home, which means I never have to change out of my pyjamas if I don’t want to (but I do try to just to feel “normal”). However, comfort is key, especially on those incredibly long days that stretch into long nights in front of the computer, and with the weather getting colder, all I want is something warm and cozy to curl up in. HB Super’s got AMAZING hoodies (zip up and pullover) that are so soft and comfy, not to mention they have headphones built into them so you can plug your iPod in and listen. They’re all completely washable, as well, so this is a total winner to me.
Dr. Hauschka Rose Day Cream – $34.42 at Amazon
Nothing can make your skin look ragged quicker than long days without enough sleep, so I’m really exact about my skincare regimen. Gotta keep hydrated, and Dr. Hauschka’s Rose Day Cream is a part of my daily routine that I love. It keeps my skin so soft without getting greasy, and I’m in love with it (and most of their other products, as well).
2014 Mini Westie Wall Calendar – $7.99 at Calendars.com
Calendars are important for organization, and while most of us use Google Calendars or our phones to keep track of appointments and events, I like to combine my schedule with ADORABLE PUPPIES, which is why I’ve already got my January 2014 page open and hanging on this Westie calendar. I LOVE PUPPIES! Especially Westies, since I have one myself. This is a must have for my workday.
Solve Some Time Clock – $37.99 at Modcloth
Sure, you can just check the time on your phone, but who doesn’t love geeky accessories? I don’t know anyone. This weird math equation clock may look pretty impossible, making it more of a decorative piece than a functional one if you’re not right-brained, but it’s just so cute and quirky, I can’t help but love it.
Nokia Lumia 1020 – $99.99 (with AT&T contract) at Amazon
I already mentioned how much I love the Nokia Lumia tablet, but the phone has won me over as well. You’ll probably have heard of the 1020 because of its 41 MP camera, which is pretty much unknown in the industry – Ellie Goulding even shot her ‘How Long Will I Love You’ video on one, which admittedly is kinda what pulled me in. The Windows-based phone syncs really well with your computer and has made multi-tasking super easy. The awesome camera options are also awesome – you can do moving pictures like in Harry Potter! SCORE.
