Holiday Gift Guide for the Wannabe Baller

Look, most of us aren’t rich and probably never will be. That doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy a little bit of luxury here and there. After all, it’s the little touches that count, and the gifts compiled here will add a dash of “I’m rolling in cash!” to your life.

Sienna Basketweave “Macklemore” Throw – $99 at Dormify

I know anything that uses Macklemore as part of their marketing scheme might seem fishy, but I swear to god, I feel like I’m being swathed in luxurious fur from endangered animals with this blanket. You know, without all the animal killing (because yes, this thing is completely cruelty free and faux). I’m not ashamed to say that I love this thing. And ‘Thrift Shop’, for that matter.

Breda Women’s ‘Jordan’ Two-Toned Rose Gold Boyfriend Watch – $39.59 at Overstock

I feel like every song on the radio is talking about how many gold chains and Rolexes rich people have. I can’t afford a Rolex, but I can still look like I’ve got cash with this watch. It’s nice and weighty (which makes you feel like you’re wearing something expensive – maybe that’s just me!) and looks great on. I’m a big fan of rose gold, so that’s an added bonus. Seriously, I love this thing.

Silk’n Flash & Go Hair Remover – $279 at Silk’n

All lady ballers are always silky smooth and make me feel like a wooly mammoth. I can’t afford repeated laser hair removal treatments to become permanently hairless, but I can get out my Flash & Go and do an at home treatment. It actually works over time to reduce not only the amount of hair you have, but how often you have to shave. If you’re lazy like me, this is an extra good thing.

Tiffany & Co. Parfum – $140 at Tiffany & Co

The first time I ever set foot in Tiffany & Co. on 5th Avenue in Manhattan, I suddenly started standing taller and trying to act like I belonged there. I totally didn’t, but I still went (and I even bought something – probably the least expensive thing they sell). If you want to SMELL like you’re rich, you’ve gotta get the Tiffany & Co perfume. I honestly can’t tell you a single note that’s in this bottle, just that it smells like money and lots of it (and that’s delicious).

Givenchy Red Carpet Look Set – $60 at Sephora

One of the easiest ways to feel like you’re living the high life is to own something designer. You can forget about $500 Louis Vuitton change purses, but cosmetics by big name houses are often more affordable – and they sometimes even come with bonus makeup bags, if you’re lucky to catch a deal. Givenchy makes some great lip colours and their mascara is on point, too. I like keeping the bag in my purse because even though no one sees it, I still feel rich as hell just having it.

Bloom 16 Piece Dinnerware Set – $48 at Fab.com

If you go to someone’s house for dinner, you automatically assume they’ve got major dough if they’ve got really nice dishes. Hell, even my house had “special dishes” that we never used save for extremely rare occasions like Christmas. They’re the expensive dishes, the ones you never want to break or lose a piece of so they just sit there on display. Well, now you don’t have to hide your nice dishes for company. For less than $50, you can get a full set of classy looking dishes that look way more expensive than they are. That’s a winner to me!

Fleur Plan Rug 4×6 – $149 at Modcloth

One thing I always see in celeb magazines when they do exposés on their vacation houses or whatever is that they have REALLY nice rugs. Innately designed, hand woven, fancy things they probably just “picked up” on their last jaunt to Morocco or whatever. Well, you can have an equally nice rug and you don’t have to go anywhere to get it.

Green Star Elite Twin Gear Juicer – $529 at Amazon

Sure, $500 for a juicer seems like a lot to spend, but this one is worth it. Juicing is becoming a bigger and bigger thing as the years go by, and this is as close to a commercial grade juicer as you can get for your own home. Juice your veggies and fruits with only a little bit of waste and then sit back and think, “Huh, I bet Jennifer Aniston owns one of these.” (**I don’t know if Jennifer Aniston actually owns a Green Star Elite.)

Nokia Lumia 2520 Tablet – $499 at Microsoft Store or $399 at Amazon (with contract)

Sure, iPads tend to be the big brand, but there are some amazing Windows and Android based tablets coming out. Nokia’s Lumia series of products are AMAZING both performance and specs wise, and they look pretty great, too. This one has a 10.1″ touch screen, 4G LTE, a 6.7MP camera and up to 10 hours of battery life. Plus, they come in great colours like the red one above and have the ultra-modern Windows 8 layout. BALLER. Oh, and one more thing – now through January 9th, they’ve got a deal going on where if you buy a Nokia Lumia 925/1020/1520 and get a Nokia Lumia tablet for $199.99.
