Here is Hogwarts like you’ve never seen it before
J.K Rowling once said, “Whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.” What she forgot to leave out is if we happen to get back there via a combination of both. What happens if it’s the actual book pages of Harry Potter that brings Hogwarts to life? You don’t have to think about that idea for too long, because it’s already happened, and the result is amazing.
YouTube user and stop motion aficionado, unPOP has created Hogwarts Castle from the pages of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. How is that even possible? Through a little bit of magic, of course. Writing in their video’s description, they literally built Hogwarts, piece by piece and page by page, until they had brought the whole building to life. They cut and crumpled paper, making space for the windows and steeples of the castle. We see it slowly come to life right on the page, just like it did in our imagination all those years ago (or whenever we last read some HP).
As they build the school for Witchcraft and Wizardry, at certain points we can actually see the text on the page, too. Don’t just go cutting up your beloved copies of Harry Potter to try and emulate this, though. Save that for the professionals. It took the TWO PERSON (!!) team about a month to create this, and their work clearly shows. There’s even a tiny little paper owl that flies away, too. Somewhere, smiling down on us from Owl Heaven, Hedwig is totally impressed.
