It’s official: Bette Midler has joined the Hocus Pocus 25th anniversary reunion TV special

Sisters, behold! Hocus Pocus turns 25 this year, and the world is ready to celebrate. In honor of the major milestone, Freeform—the beloved Halloween film’s unofficial home during the month of October—is hosting the Hocus Pocus 25th Anniversary Halloween Bash. And we’re SO excited.

E! News reports that the celebratory night will feature interviews with stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, as well as director Kenny Ortega. They also report that a number of other cast members are set to join in on the occasion, including Omri Katz (Max), Thora Birch (Dani), Amanda Shepherd (Emily), Doug Jones (Billy Butcherson), Jason Marsden (the voice of Thackery Binx), Larry Bagby (Ernie), and Tobias Jelinek (Jay).

And perhaps the most exciting addition to the night? None other than Bette Midler, aka Winifred Sanderson herself.

Freeform announced Midler’s participation in an October 18th tweet.

The Hocus Pocus special will also feature a costume contest judged by Sharon and Kelly Osbourne.

Because, let’s face it: No Halloween party is complete without a costume contest. The night will also have a number of performances, including one from Dove Cameron.

The Hocus Pocus 25th Anniversary Halloween Bash is airing as part of Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween programming schedule, which was formerly Freeform’s 13 Nights of Halloween. Yes, this year, we get full month of Halloween movies—not to mention a Hocus Pocus marathon on Halloween itself.

We may not have that long-awaited Hocus Pocus sequelyet!—but at least we’ll be able to see most of the original cast reunite and celebrate the beloved film.

So grab a bowl of popcorn and tune in to the Hocus Pocus 25th Anniversary Halloween Bash on October 20th. But whatever you do to get into the Hocus Pocus spirit, please don’t light the Black Flame Candle.
