H&M is coming out with a sustainable denim collection, and it’s pure “jeanius”
The terms “fast” and “sustainable” are rarely synonymous in the fashion industry. Until H&M’s sustainable collections, that is. The affordable mega-retailer is committed to making their retail operations more eco-chic, and with their latest Close the Loop denim collection, their sustainability efforts are have reached the jeanius threshold.
The six-piece denim collection, which is out on October 5th, features must-have pieces that come both at a sustainable environmental cost and IRL price tag. With three pairs of drool-worthy jeans, overalls, a pencil skirt, and a covetable denim jacket, the collection proves a worthy contender to the many, many ahhh-mazing fall collections to hit the market as of late.
Classic silhouettes are offset by modern details like raw-edge hems and funky zippers that give these threads an even more amplified kick. What’s more, each item is crafted from 20 percent post-consumer recycled textiles, gathered directly from H&M’s “take-back” in-store garment collecting initiatives. So you can breathe an environmentally conscious sigh of relief every time you slip one of these well-crafted gems on.
“For the latest Close the Loop Denim collection, we’re trying to evoke the feeling of ‘Modern Vintage,’” Ann-Sofie Johansson, Creative Advisor at H&M, said via statement.
H&M has added stunning installments to the sustainable line, including wedding dresses and red carpet gowns. As Refinery 29 points out, they’ve also set a company goal that by the year 2030, more of their clothing will be made from recycled goods and sustainable fabrics than new materials.
Let’s take a look at the pieces in the collection, shall we?
These light-wash, high-waisted jeans with a frayed knee and cuffed ankles are the ideal addition to your everyday jeans rotation.
But if cuffed jeans aren’t your thing, then perhaps these longer straight-leg jeans are more your speed.
Can you really ever have enough cropped flare denim? Nope! And this high-waisted black pair is just stunning.
There’s no denying how fresh these dark dungarees feel with their wide-leg cut and frayed hem.
We need this frayed-hem black denim pencil skirt in our closet ASAP.
And can you ever really have enough dark denim jackets in your closet?
Remember to mark your calendars for October 5th, so you can shop this sleek and sustainable denim collection the second it becomes available.
