Hillary Clinton’s new haircut is the biggest chop since K.Stew’s buzzcut

Perhaps taking a page from Michelle Obama’s hair playbook, Hillary Clinton debuted a new haircut — with bangs! — on International Women’s Day, and she looks absolutely stellar.

The chop is the biggest hair transformation Clinton has undergone since she went from her soft, longer locks in 2014 (remember her scrunchie phase?) to her signature choppy pixie-meets-bob cut in 2015. Her new look includes wispy bangs — a la Michelle Obama at the 2013 Inauguration — and a smooth, piece-y, face-framing short cut.

The overall effect is youthful, playful, and perfect for a woman who is embarking on (what we think) will be the best chapter of her life.

So chic, Hillz.

Clinton debuted her new ‘do at an International Women’s Day event in D.C. on March 8th, the Vital Voices Global Leadership Awards, where she offered inspiring words about women’s equality and resistance in a time of uncertainty.

“International Women’s Day is always important, but this year it feels even more significant,” Clinton said, according to ABC News. “A day to recognize that women have always been on the front lines of the most important fights unfolding around us.”

She added, "You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror, I can take the next thing that comes along.'"

With her red jacket and red statement lip proudly on display — the color women were encouraged to wear in support of A Day Without a Woman yesterday — Clinton proved once again that she’s a leader for the ages.
