Hillary Clinton awesomely explains to elementary schoolers why a woman can TOTALLY be president
Claiming “old biases are hard to shake” and “children are our future, whether we like it or not,” Jimmy Kimmel met with four adorable children — Sydney, Jayden, Belle, and Andrew — to discuss whether or not a woman could be president. And the responses were at first very disconcerting.
“I think women are not presidents,” says Andrew right off the bat. “They’re too girly,” adds Jayden. “They’ll make girl rules.” When Jimmy Kimmel asks if women can do anything men can do, girls Sydney and Belle firmly agree, while Jayden replies in the negative: “They’re too weak.” Falling down gender lines, the girls believe we should have a lady president, while the men disagree. “Boys are too buff,” Jayden explains, to endure the leadership of a lady president.
Luckily, Jimmy Kimmel has a special friend stop by to “convince you guys that there are women who could be president or might very well be president of the United States:” Hillary Clinton! Ever the kind listener, she takes notes on their request (free food and free toys), and in the end wins over Andrew, who admits that women can be president, after all. Jayden, however, remains unsure. But Hillary Clinton remains magnanimous: “We haven’t had a woman to be president yet. So we need to have a woman to be president and then you would have more evidence to base your decision on.”
