Hillary Clinton is officially the most admired woman for the 16th year in a row
Even though Hillary Clinton didn’t win the 2016 presidential election, plenty of people are still #WithHer. According to an annual Gallup poll, Hillary Clinton is not only popular — she’s the most admired woman of 2017. It’s an honor she’s received more than just a few times. The former presidential candidate and First Lady has reigned supreme as the most admired woman for 16 years in a row now. Which makes this a double honor for Clinton. Besides being unsurpassed in that particular category, Clinton is now the single most admired person in Gallup history. Not too shabby, right? This makes us extra proud to have Hillary on top of our Christmas tree.
Hillary Clinton was up against some heavy hitters this year for the title of most admired woman. She edged out fellow former first lady Michelle Obama by a mere 2% of the vote. Other contenders for the coveted title included Oprah Winfrey, Elizabeth Warren, Angela Merkel, Queen Elizabeth II, Condoleezza Rice, Melania Trump, Nikki Haley, Kate Middleton, and Beyoncé Knowles. But despite some truly worthy competition, Clinton once again walked away as the most admired woman in America. We wonder if SNL‘s Pete Davidson will get another Hillary Clinton tattoo to celebrate.

What a positive, empowering, and hopeful reminder of what women have accomplished. It’s also a great list of empowering women to keep you going strong when things get discouraging. Bring on 2018!
